Dental Tips for Kids
Daily Home Care Steps
BRUSH
Use a pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste.

Place the brush at a 45° angle toward gum line and brush gently with a circular motion.

Make sure you brush all surfaces of the teeth.

Brush for at least 2-3 minutes.

Replace the toothbrush every 3 to 4 months.

Adults should help children brush until age 6.
FLOSS
It is very important to floss between your teeth, where it’s difficult for your toothbrush to reach.

Flossing a minimum of 2 to 3 times a week is highly recommended. Your dental hygienist will provide you with detailed instruction on proper technique.
RINSE
Use anti-cavity fluoride rinses for extra protection from cavities, once your child is old enough not to swallow rinse.
