Collapsed Arch
What is a Collapsed Arch?
A collapsed arch refers to a condition in which the natural curvature of the dental arch has deteriorated, often due to missing teeth, bone loss, or other dental issues. This leads to a misalignment of the remaining teeth and can cause functional and aesthetic problems. Supra-eruption, or the over-eruption of teeth, occurs when a tooth continues to grow beyond its normal position because it no longer has an opposing tooth to maintain proper occlusion. This over-eruption can contribute to the collapse of the dental arch by further destabilizing the alignment and function of the remaining teeth.
